ProdexNet announced today, that it is launching
a new initiative for the RFID market that will provide services
for those organizations requiring help with deployment and
management of their RFID infrastructure. With recently announced
key industry mandates by WalMart and the US Department of
Defense which require the use of RFID by their suppliers,
RFID is now poised for widespread adoption within the industry.
Several IT organizations are now actively looking to deploy
new RFID infrastructure and integrate with their existing
infrastructure. ProdexNet s RFID initiative, will provide
services to assist these organizations with their RFID deployments
and help effectively manage those deployments once they are
operational.
ProdexNet has been actively following
the evolving standards around RFID being defined under the
auspices of the Auto-ID Center and EPCglobal in the context
of the EPC (Electronic Product Code) Network. ProdexNet will
leverage its extensive Enterprise Network and System Management
expertise to enable the seamless integration of EPC standards-based
RFID infrastructure with existing network, system and management
infrastructures.
RFID deployments will introduce new complexities
and requirements to existing enterprise network infrastructures.
" ProdexNet, with our expertise in Enterprise Infrastructure
management, intends to help companies fold in the RFID infrastructure
into their existing environments, so the cost of ownership
of RFID infrastructures is kept to a minimum", said Sujatha
Bodapati, President of ProdexNet.
