NetGather makes it easy for Service Providers and Enterprises
to measure service level compliance
ProdexNet, a Silicon Valley based start-up debuts
NetGather, the industry's first customer-focused integrated
IT reporting solution. NetGather gives Service Providers and
Enterprises a consolidated view of their infrastructure, their
services and their customers. They are able to know every
aspect of their infrastructure, how it affects a customer,
which faults are affecting the customer and how a customer's
service is performing against their SLA. Since reports are
generated using Java technologies, they are viewable over
the Web anytime, anywhere, by the vendor or the customer.
NetGather is specifically targeted at users
who deploy two or more best-of-breed tools to manage their
heterogeneous infrastructures, but now want an easy way to
correlate and use the data coming from these disparate databases.
NetGather consolidates and correlates data from disparate
management data sources to generate customer and service centric
reports, reports that are relevant to critical business tasks
such as service level measurement and validation, capacity
planning and provisioning and resource usage based billing.
"It is one thing to have access to valuable
infrastructure data through each of the mainstream tools,
but it is a major task to aggregate and correlate the data
from these different data sources to realize meaningful reports,"
said Sujatha Bodapati, Co-founder and VP. "Our solution
allows integrated reports to be generated in minutes rather
than in days or weeks. Just like Crystal Reports integrates
data from different business-centric data sources, NetGather
will integrate different IT Infrastructure data sources. Our
goal is to be known as the 'Crystal Reports' for IT Infrastructure."
The NetGather architecture leverages several
open industry standards to allow for distribution and scalability.
It uses WBEM (Web Based Enterprise Management) to do data
modeling and to represent it in XML form. LDAP Directory Services
are accessed to leverage user/customer related information.
The architecture makes it easy to add support for any new
device, tool or database.
